Math:
We began our "Adding" unit with mental math strategies. Students reviewed "My Friend 10" from last week and moved onto the following strategies: "Near Doubles, Doubles Plus 1, and Relating Addition to Subtraction."
Students used white boards and markers to explore and practice these strategies. Using these strategies, students also solved word problems.
Inquiry:
In both Ms. Leggo's class and our class, students explored the various aspects of building. AMA what the strongest shapes are and why. AMA the different fasteners we used in class and the ones that were the strongest.
